A few weeks ago, one of our avid readers, Simone, wrote to us about a new product she’d been using. It’s called DermaPure. She said it made her face look and feel younger. She hadn’t wanted to go through painful injections like she would have had to do with Botox treatments, and using DermaPure enabled her to hold off on those for a bit longer.
Needless to say, we were more than a little intrigued. Today’s skincare industry is overcrowded with products designed to provide you with the best anti-aging results. They promise a boost to your self-confidence, a youthful glow, and younger skin, but many products don’t deliver on these promises.
It can be difficult to decipher the good from the bad when it comes to skincare, especially when shopping online. Unfortunately, the only way to get a feel for a product is to read online reviews, before eventually trying the product out for yourself.
So, is DermaPure one of those products worth trying? Read on as we take a closer look at exactly what it is that makes DermaPure tick, along with whether or not this skincare formula actually works.
How each product is reviewed
Each and every product mentioned on our site has been tested by one of the team members of Pierre Michel Beauty. We do not receive any sponsorship from the brands and all comments are our own. From time to time, we also refer to online reviews and include information about how other people use the products.
Hot Take: Our team member tried DermaPure and found that while it is a decent product, there are a few factors that make us think twice. Our preferred choice is still the LifeCell All-in-One Skin Tightening Treatment instead. Read on as I share my detailed findings.
What is DermaPure?
DermaPure is marketed as an anti-aging cream that offers results that are comparable to cosmetic surgery. At the same time, it’s cheaper than Botox, and you don’t have any painful injections to deal with.
According to the brand, the cream works at a cellular level to harness ingredients that help in reversing the aging process after just a few weeks of regular use. The active peptides in DermaPure supposedly smooth wrinkles and fine lines, while promoting the production of collagen to firm and plump up the skin.
In addition to that, it has the supposed ability to increase the lift in your face, rather like Botox does (1). The brand claims that the product blocks the receptors that tell your muscles to relax, and when you use it twice a day, you’ll see noticeable results within a month.
Sound too good to be true? We thought so too, which is why we decided to dive deeper into this product’s ingredients to decipher how it actually works.
DermaPure Ingredients – Are they Safe?
Using a new product on your face can be a bit scary, especially if you have sensitive skin. For this reason, you always want to read up on the ingredients involved.
DermaPure is primarily composed of natural plant and herbal extracts, which is always a good thing. The formula is packed with antioxidants, including Saccharide Isolerate, Vitamin E, and Agaricus Bisponus Beta Gluncane, to help your skin look and feel better. It also boasts soothing ingredients, like Mango, Cocoa and Shea butters (2).
Additionally, DermaPure features a special peptide complex, known as Polymoist-PS Complex. Although this ingredient may sound impressive, we struggled to find studies that confirmed its efficacy. The exact formulation of this complex is also unknown, which leaves us a little dubious – we always like to know exactly what it is that we’re putting onto our skin, and therefore into our bodies too.
DermaPure states that the ingredients in this formula increase collagen and elastin by working at a cellular level. This could very well be the case, but it’s difficult to determine how safe and effective a product really is when full information about its ingredients isn’t disclosed.
What We Like – Pros
We love the promises that this product makes. DermaPure has stated that you’ll see skin moisture levels increase by over 400% in only two days. In addition, after a month, you should begin to see a marked decrease in wrinkles and lines – up to 60% worth. These statistics definitely appeal to us!
When you use DermaPure daily, the manufacturers promise that it will be helpful in keeping your skin moist, healthy, hydrated and supple. We found a few DermaPure reviews that backed this up, stating how the product helps with dryness, cracking, and peeling. The moisture that it provides to the skin also leaves fine lines and wrinkles looking less noticeable.
We also appreciate how the majority of this product’s ingredients are naturally derived. In this day and age, nobody wants to be using harsh chemicals on their skin when there are so many better alternatives available.
Another plus point is the 14-day free trial offered by DermaPure. This allows you to give the product a try without committing to anything.
What We Don’t Like – Cons
One of the biggest issues that we picked up on when reading DermaPure reviews is that this product often causes irritation for those with sensitive skin.
It’s unclear as to exactly why this is. However, if we were to take a guess, it could be due to the fact that its ingredients haven’t been fully tested in long-term scientific studies. The fact that it’s so difficult to find out the exact makeup of this formula is a little worrying, especially for people who already suffer from sensitivities or allergies.
Of course, this may not be an issue for you since we all have different skin types. For this reason, if you decide to give this cream a try, you need to treat it like you would any other new skincare product. Test it out on a small patch of skin to make sure it doesn’t trigger any negative side effects. If all is clear after 24-48 hours, go ahead and apply it to your entire face.
It’s worth mentioning that we were disappointed to find that there isn’t an official website for DermaPure. Their products are purchased through affiliate sites, like Amazon. You would think that if this brand were truly legit, they would have its own website, right? This makes us a bit skeptical and, from reading DermaPure reviews, we can see that other people feel the same.
DermaPure Review: What’s Our Conclusion?
It’s inevitable that over the years, our skin will begin to age. While we need to learn to embrace these changes, there are also products like DermaPure that promise to rejuvenate our skin. This cream promises to reduce puffiness and relieve dryness while giving users healthier, younger-looking skin.
Unfortunately, not all DermaPure reviews attest to this. Sure, every skincare product will come with both positive and negative reviews, but those with sensitive skin really struggle with the irritation caused by this formula.
We still rate this product for how it can make the skin feel soft and supple after use, but if you’re looking for a true multi-tasker that moisturizes while also tackling skin aging, we would recommend considering the LifeCell All-in-One Skin Tightening Treatment instead.
Proven to be safe for all skin types, this formula contains a long list of potent, science-backed ingredients, with hundreds of reviews confirming how quickly and effectively it works.[ninja_tables id=”18761″]
